Samsung announced a 85-inch ultra high definition 4K TV, the largest! Samsung is coming out with this TV in march 2013.One of the key differences of this TV is that it has a full array backlight around the back, which means it doesn’t have the edge-lit display. Samsung will also include the local dimming on this set so this combined with the back-lit display will improve the picture quality.
The S9 series will also give you the latest Samsung Smart Hub and employs improved gesture controls and a voice-control remote. Possibly one of the more notable innovations is the introduction of the One Connect system, which consolidates all audio/visual cables into one solitary cable that plugs into the back of the TV, getting rid of the frustrating rat's nest of HDMI cables The TV set has a very unique design, Samsung calls it “Timeless” since around the edge is a very thin bezel and the entire screen sits among a larger frame. The entire screen is built into a sort of external easel. You can actually move the set up and down on the frame or you can even tilt horizontally as well. There is also a camera hidden along the top of the screen, which is used for skype and gesture control. Voice-recognition is another feature on this TV, which allows you to speak to the TV. There is also a new touch pad remote with a microphone included just like the Samsung high-end smart TVs. The 4K Easel UN 85S9 is undoubtedly the most fully loaded television, there is even speakers on the outside bezel, which act like a sound bar. The UN85S9 is expected to sell for a hefty price tag of $30,000! Samsung UN85S9 TV Specs:
85-inch 4K Ultra HD Display (3840 × 2160px)
1.35GHz processor with the Quad-Core A15 chipset.
4 HDMI ports
120-watt 2.2 speaker system
Smart Hub software, S-Recommendation, and voice control
While there isn't much 4K content out yet, Samsung installed an onboard system to upscale non-4K content to fit the screen. This will allow you to enjoy the TV's amazing picture quality while the media rushes to create content in the newer resolution standard. CHECK OUT THIS VIDEO:

Technology changes every two years. Just comparing the iPhone 4 that was
released the June of 2010 and the iPhone 3G from 2008; the difference
is so major that even seeing the 3G reminds someone of the ‘old days.’
Blackberry has been around since 1999, but their Curve series that began
in 2007 changed greatly within two years. RIM was getting rid of the
little white touch balls and replacing them with black touch pads. Then,
of course, there’s Android. The Captivate came out in 2010 which is
pretty much the first generation of Galaxy devices and not everyone
would recognize it if they saw it. In 2012, they came out with the
Galaxy S III, in which one out of every nine people buying a smart phone
chose the S III for its display size and updated software.
Think a flexible smartphone is just science fiction? You might have to
think again, thanks to Samsung. The Korean company recently unveiled
Galaxy Skin, an Android smartphone that can take on different shapes and
take on even hammer blows, set to begin production in 2013 Q2 with
murmurings of a release sometime thereafter.
At this year’s CES in Las Vegas, Samsung revealed
a new, flexible AMOLED screen that portrays vivid images on a flat,
bendable display. These screens also happen to be very energy efficient
and unbreakable – quite the feat! , they look amazing, an almost
Daliesque, surrealistic view of our phoning future.
This fantasy phone can be shaped into the form of a boombox or
projector. Or perhaps you’d rather a stand-alone clock for a phone. With
a bendable AMOLED display, the possibilities are endless.
After flexible-screen mobile phones roll out, the company plans to introduce the same technology for tablets and other devices.
Samsung Galaxy Skin was just a kind of rumors, but the flexible smartphone arrives sometime next year.
Using
the material ‘graphene’ for its display, this has been touted to be
“the miracle material” which will make flexible displays a reality by
the time the Skin hits the market.
This polyimide substrate will
replace the glass. It is soft enough to be rollable and bendable without
making any damage to image quality.
The display will have double the length when unfolded.
Specs:
-221mm x 67mm x 8 mm
-16GB and 32GB
-4" 800x480 flexible AMOLED
-8 MP camera + VGA camera
-1.2Ghz processor, 1GB of RAM
-1500mAh battery
The Future is here.Just press a button and this tablet's screen sprouts real tactile buttons that push out of the screen and give you a true physical keyboard that you can press and feel.Works with a pumping system and is nothing short of magic.
Tactus Technology is the developer of a new tactile user interface for
touch-screen devices. Tactus provides a new dimension of user interface
with a fundamentally unique solution: application-controlled,
completely transparent physical buttons that rise up from the
touch-screen surface on demand. With the buttons enabled, users can
push and type or rest their fingers as they would with any physical
button or keyboard. When the buttons are disabled, they recede into the
screen, becoming invisible and leaving a smooth, seamless flat
touch-screen with maximum viewing area.
To emphasize, this is not a trick of your senses using vibration or
stimulation, but rather real physical buttons that rise out of the
surface of the screen. You can read more about the technology and how
it works "Taking Touch Screen Interfaces Into A New Dimension".
Our Tactile Layer™ technology easily integrates with today's
touchscreen-based devices (smart phones, tablets, personal navigation
systems, gaming devices, etc.) by simply replacing the front layer of
the display stack, known as the "lens", "window" or "cover glass". Our
dynamic Tactile Layer component is the same thickness as the layer it
replaces and requires no change to the underlying display or touch
sensor.
Tactile Layer™ touchscreen features:
Replaces window and sits on top of the existing touch screen
Works with existing touch sensing and display technologies
Minimal power consumption
Size is scalable (mobile-phone screen to TV screen)
Button layouts, shapes, location and sizes can be customized
